Soul Position’s third album, “Things Go Better,” is a refreshing break from the stale hip-hop scene of today . Bluprint’s rhyme style has matured since the last album, coming across as less rushed with a more dynamic flow. RJD2’s melodies intertwine with the vocals to create one of the best albums in recent memory. From the satirical “I need my minutes,” to the jovial “Blame it on the Jager,” the album is entertaining from start to finish. Even the order of the songs is well crafted, with each track segueing to the next seamlessly. Bluprint’s lyrical content is all over the map, from advice to teens, the problems of today’s scene, to the troubles of material love, and of course, stories upon stories. Stand out tracks on the album include “Keep it hot for Daddy,” “No Gimmicks,” “The Cool Thing to Do,” and “Hand-Me-Downs.” This album is a must for any fan who appreciates speaking the truth.
