The Vaquero Men’s Volleyball team finished a three-game run on the road with a win against Palomar College Friday night in four games, bringing the record to 4-1 at Palomar.
Head coach Donal McGraw said the Vaqs crushed Palomar in the first two games, 25-15 and 25-17, but the team relaxed and lost the third game 24-26.
“We had to battle back and find our momentum again,” McGraw said.
He said the team was down 24-22 in the fourth game, and he thought the match might go to a fifth game.
“The guys rallied and finished it off,” he added. The Vaqs won the final game 26-24.
Outside hitter Chris Waddill was a key player during the match with 18 kills and 6 aces, McGraw said.
The team has been playing well together, McGraw said, and he expects them to do well this season.
The Vaqs will play at home tonight against San Diego Mesa College in the Sports Pavilion at 6 p.m.
