Carol Diamond, professor of computer applications and office management, won the February faculty of the month award.

“Carol is a master teacher,” read a prepared statement from the Academic Senate and the Faculty Recognition Committee. “She projects warmth, friendliness, professionalism, and expertise – all at the same time.”

Diamond started her career in business before she decided to teach business communication at Humber College in Toronto.

Diamond said she was inspired to pursue high teaching standards and expectations in the classroom while studying at Ontario’s Institute of Studies in Education.

Diamond likes to travel, and enjoys history and mystery. While living in Cambridge, England, she taught at the College of Further Education for three years.

She said she enjoyed her time at the university because it had been the center of intellectual activity for centuries.

This is the one of the reasons why she chose Cambridge as one of her most favorite places in the world.
