George Clooney was presented with the Modern Master Award, the 21st Santa Barbara International Film Festival’s highest accolade, on Friday night at the Arlington Theatre. Clooney has also been acknowledged for his work with three Oscar nominations-Best Actor for “Syriana,” Best Director and Best Screenplay for “Good Night, and Good Luck.” This is the first time Clooney has been nominated for an Oscar. His career kicked into high gear after he played Dr. Doug Ross on “ER.” Some of his films include “Three Kings,” “From Dusk Until Dawn” and “Ocean’s Eleven.” He was an executive producer for “Rumor Has It,” with Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner, and once tried out for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
