The women’s basketball flies high with the bulk of their success being credited to team play.
Head coach Sandrine Krul comments on her players and their role to help the team on their playoff run.
Jessie Mira
“She’s starting for us this year as a point guard,” Krul said. “She’s a shooter and very competitive. Her role is to score and play defense 95 feet.”
Brittney Crossland
“She’s the most naturally athletic person,” said assistant coach Courtney Pena. “Her ability to read the floor and players is outstanding.”
Jessica Romero
“She’s our leading scorer,” Krul said. “Game in and game out she has done her job. We always knew she could score but her defense has improved since preseason. She’s very coach able.”
Angela Spence
“Angela is a joy to coach,” Krul said. “She comes out of the game and I tell her that she has to do something and she say ‘I promise.’
China Nelson
“She doesn’t have the athletic ability that the others do at her position but the others don’t have her heart,” Krul said. “She works so hard.”
Alyssa Musgrove
“Alyssa came to us from Alaska,” Krul said. “She has never missed a practice and has never missed a game.”
Heather McDonald
“Heather came to us and couldn’t make a free throw,” Krul said. “She makes them now. Her confidence has improved.”
Kelly Charest
“She played a post in high school but we wanted to red-shirt her and make her a three,” Krul said. “She has a beautiful shot and doesn’t like to bang.”
Erin Seaver
“She’s very talented but is playing behind very talented guards,” Krul said. “She has the best attitude.”
Maricela Aguilar
“She’s going to be a big part of our program next year,” Krul said. “She has a beautiful shot.”
Kelli Lem
“We’re giving her the ball next year,” Krul said. “She’s going to take over the point guard position and run the offense. She also is one of our most improved players.”
Sara Rudorfer
“She runs the court excellent for a 6’3″ girl,” said Krul. “She’s starting for us now and her role is to score.”
Brenna Flynn
“We started her at the four position but she’s a true three guard so she’s coming off the bench for us,” Krul said. “She’s a shooter, she athletic, she just needs to believe that no one can stop her.”
Kayla Briers
“Kayla is our most consistent player,” Krul said. “She’s our starting point guard. She’s a captain. She hasn’t missed a practice in two years.”
Talia Joyce
“Talia’s role to lead as a captains and second,” Krul said. “She’s averaging nine points a game and always done everything right in games.”
Agnes Fowler- Williams
“Right now she’s our most improved player,” Krul said. “She’s so athletic.”
Lisette Willford
“She has a beautiful shot,” Krul said. “She had a great game against L.A. Pierce and she was the turn around.”
Melissa Gutierrez
“Her role is to shot and defend and she’s added another dimension to her game,” Krul said. “She is our third leading rebounder on the team.”
