Thank you for highlighting the wonderful Cyber Center in your 2005-2006 debut issue of Channels. Unfortunately, some misinformation was included in the Channels Editorial. The Cyber Center is not the “only place on campus where students can freely access personal email and enjoy the benefits of a wireless network.” The library does offer these services and much more to the SBCC community. Not only can you get technical help from the Learning Center Tutors but students can also benefit from the services offered by the librarians such as database searching and research assistance. The library just had 30 new student computers installed on September 12 and we are open for business. The library is open 8:00am-10:00pm, Monday-Thursday and 8:00am-4:30pm on Fridays. Please let me know if you have ideas for library; I am definitely not as scary as the editorial cartoon implied.
