The trial date for Slava Olsen, who is charged in the death of City College student Bradley Jones, has been set for May 18.
Olson was arrested after an incident in Isla Vista Feb. 28 where Jones was assaulted so severely that he died two days later.
Superior Court Judge Joseph Lodge also scheduled a private assessment hearing for May 4, where the defense and the prosecution will meet to determine whether they are ready to proceed with the trial.
In a related event, Jones’s mother, Allison Jones, attended a town hall meeting Tuesday to discuss the situation in Isla Vista.
