Mudcrutch brings nostalgia with the band’s newest CD “Extended Play Live” which is released Nov. 11.
Mudcrutch was formed in 1970 in Gainesvilles, Fla., but broke up a few years later. The band members moved on to successful individual projects such as The Heartbreakers and Tom Petty. Now more than 30 years later the band is reunited.
The album, which contains live-recorded tracks from a recent tour, is catchy and easy to listen to.
The song “Crystal River,” an almost 15 minutes piece, is mainly instrumental, soft, and melodic for the first 11 minutes, but then turns more aggressive.
A highlight is “High School Confidential,” which sounds like a tribute to Jerry Lee Lewis and the golden era of Rock & Roll.
This is rhythm that will make your feet start moving under the table.
