The City College women’s basketball team will have a fund-raiser from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29 at Taffy’s Pizza.
Taffy’s Pizza is located at 2026 De la Vina Street between Mission Street and Padre Street. They will offer a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts, beverages and specialties to the attendees.
“This is the first time we are doing this,” said Ashley Alderton, the women’s basketball team assistant coach. “We hope to have a good response.”
Taffy’s Pizza will donate 20 percent of their revenue for that entire day to the team. This applies to inside dining, take-outs and delivery purchases.
The goal is to raise $1,000 for the program to help with the team’s expenses such as tournament fees and hotel rooms.
