CD Review – Del Tha Funkee Homosapien’s ‘Eleventh Hour’

Just as his name suggests, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien’s puts the “F” in funky in his newest album, “Eleventh Hour.” Sadly, his first album in seven years also puts the “F” in failure.

The 14-track album is filled with wacky lyrics that lack focus. If I was as crazy as him, maybe I would be able to listen to his lyrics and actually know what he’s talking about. His verses have a hard time sticking, mostly because he has a hard time rhyming.

The only song in the album worthy of turning up the stereo to is “Naked Fonk.” Unlike the rest of the album, this song actually has a point.

Listeners might as well stop after that song because the rest is just a waste of time.

Maybe the CD just needs more time to grow on me. Perhaps Del should have waited until the midnight hour, because this album needed some more work.
