Standout squad earns Vaqs multiple conference honors

A year that has seen numerous milestones just got better for the Western State Conference North Division Champs.

This year’s Vaquero men’s baseball team took all three major awards given out by the conference as well as had 13 players make the All WSC team. Jon DeAlba won conference player of the year, an award he finished second in voting last season.

DeAlba hit .371 with 10 homeruns and 45 RBIs while playing a solid centerfield and maintaining the third spot in their high-octane offense.

Freshmen pitcher and Santa Barbara native Bryce Uhrig took the conference’s Pitcher of the Year award by setting a City College record with 13 season wins.
