Just as students began to rejoice over the drop in resident per-unit class fees, mandatory student health fees will face a $1 rise.
Approved by the Board of Trustees on Jan. 25, students will see the increase in time for the summer session in 2008. Students can expect to pay between $11 and $12 during summer sessions and between $14 and $15 during the fall and spring semesters.
The mandatory health fee gives students access to free services in the Health Services, including check-ups, medications and personal counseling.
The new price will pertain to all students, full-time and part-time. The Board will decide whether a part-time student will pay a reduced rate or waive.
The last time health fees saw an increase was in the spring of 2005.
