Curator and gallery intern Madeleine Tonzi opened an art exhibit in the Atkinson Annex on Nov. 17, which features the work of two City College advanced painting students.
Together, Bob Mask and Heather Mattoon, the two students whose art work is being featured, created 11 paintings that hang in the Humanities Building – Room 225. Tonzi said that Mask generally creates oil paintings and that Mattoon works mostly with acrylic paints.
The opening of the exhibit coincided with the opening of the Atkinson Gallery’s current exhibit, “Repeats,” which will continue through Feb. 16.
Tonzi said that this is a learning experience for the interns. “It’s the first time that we’ve done this as a project for the interns,” Tonzi said. “So we’re developing it as we go.”
Tonzi said there will be one exhibit featured each semester in the Atkinson Annex.
