The roots-reggae band SOJA makes another great album, “Get Wiser”, their 2006 release. It is just as good as there last album “Peace in a Time of War”. Its’ rhythms lend to easy skanking, bringing together guitar, drums, keyboard, vocals, and deep bass lines for a unique reggae. With songs of love, life, and worldly matters, this group is definitely keeping things “real”. Enlightening quotes can be found in each and every songs message such as, “Things will never be the same, old doors close, new doors opening. Life we live in the past we’ve got to rearrange, cause people treat life as it is a game”, from the song “Truth Works”. I must say that 12 of the 14 songs on “Get Wiser” are excellent. SOJA’s positive vibes will provide musical inspiration to turn any grey sky blue.
