A City College human heart honored the Tsunami and La Conchita victims Jan. 16 at La Playa Stadium.
The American Red Cross and the Direct Relief International also helped to put together the memorial service.
The project was organized by community volunteer Theresa Smith. The event brought together the community to mourn lost lives at the La Conchita landslide and in the Tsunami disaster in South Asia.
Smith and her bother, Paul Piacentini, are local members of the community and dedicate part of their lives to organizing events to honor victims of world disasters.
“We decided to honor not only the Tsunami victims, but also La Conchita as part of our community,” Smith said.
