Women’s tennis advances four to regionals in Cerritos

The women’s tennis team qualified two singles and two doubles pairs to the Southern California Regional, Friday and Saturday at Ventura College.

The Vaqs had five singles left Friday and Saturday two advanced to the Regional. No. 3 seed Amy Sagraves crushed her opponent from Ventura 6-1, 6-0, and No. 8 seed Meghan Schaefer cruised past her opponent from Santa Monica 6-1, 6-3.

In doubles, Sagraves-Schaefer paired up to advance 6-1, 6-0. Freshman Terea Tapu and partner Anna Slyutova advanced, winning 6-2, 6-1.

The Southern California Regional is April 29 through May 1 at Cerritos College.
