City College (20-14) split a doubleheader in L.A. Valley beating L.A. Valley 7-2 and losing to East L.A. 4-3.
Lindsie Holloway had a two-run double during a five-run sixth inning against L.A. Valley. Joan Cannon also finished 3-for-5 in the non-conference game.
Sara Gazzaniga and Kailey Snyder combined for a three-hitter in the game. Snyder struck-out five in three and a third innings of relief.
Janelle Wong had two singles and an RBI while Nicole Adair added another two of Santa Barbara’s 14 hits.
The Vaqs homerun leader Laura Cannon had a two-run homer to break the silence in the fifth and propel the City College to a 2-0 lead in the night game.
East L.A. rallied back from a 3-1 deficit in the bottom half of the sixth to tie the game at three. Then they overtook the Vaqs with a go-ahead run in the seventh to win the game.
City College will continue their five-game road trip at 1 p.m. Tuesday with another doubleheader against L.A. Pierce in Woodland Hills.
