The City College football team fell to Hancock 42-6 in the season opener on Saturday.
The Hancock Bulldogs jumped out to an early 21-point first quarter lead and the Vaqs could never respond.
The Bulldogs were dominant running the ball, out rushing the Vaqueros 359 to negative seven.
The Vaqs showed some life in the second quarter when QB John Uribe orchestrated a 15-play, 70-yard drive, capped off by his first touchdown pass of his collegiate career.
The football team will play at La Playa Stadium against Ventura on Saturday, Sept. 19.
