Global warming has been said to be one of the most crucial issues our world is facing.
Slowly, the earth’s temperatures are rising and the impact is expected to be disastrous. Scientists warn us that global warming will raise sea levels, cause killer storms, produce massive crop failures, result in the disappearance of coral reefs and cause the widespread extinction of species.
Well, what if some of these scientists came out and told us they were wrong, their research was faulty, and that global warming is fake?
Guess what? Some have, the most notable one being Dr. Phil Jones, head of the British Climate Research Unit located at East Anglia University in Norwich, England.
Dr. Jones’ confession was prompted by the release of his emails, which revealed that he and other scientists conspired to cook and even fabricate data so as to make it look like global warming is fact. On February 13 he told BBC News that “. . . the recent warming trend which began in 1975 is not at all different than two other planetary warming phases since 1850. There has been no statistically significant warming since 1995.”
Jones also revealed in the interview that he, as well as his fellow scientists, manipulated figures to hide a decline in crucial tree-ring data. This further questioned the validity of the entire global warming theory.
Professor Jones furthermore acknowledged the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now- which suggests any global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.
According to Robinson, Baliunas, Soon & Robinson, in the journal Climate Research, before Dr. Jones came clean, some 31,000 scientists across the U.S., including more than 9,000 holding doctorates in fields such as atmospheric science, climatology, and earth science environment, signed a petition rejecting “global warming.
According to John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, (KUSI News, San Diego, January 29, 2009), some of these experts say global warming is nothing more than a misconception and hoax, used to generate fear and panic, so the government can further regulate the U.S. economy. They say those behind the movement are using it to control people’s lives and achieve financial gain for themselves.
By allowing the government to fasten more “green” regulations on industries, and set up so-called “carbon credits,” a new class of predatory businessmen can and have already become mega-millionaires as they create a market for the “carbon credits.”
The downside of this, of course, is that consumers like you and me will have to pay more for the things we need to live.
According to the London Telegraph, Nov. 3, 2009 (“Al Gore Could Become World’s First Climate Billionaire”) Al Gore is someone who has reportedly amassed hundreds of millions of dollars by means of the global warming hoax.
In one of his most well-known speeches he said, “We must achieve a safe overall concentration level for greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere. The extra heat, which cannot escape, is beginning to change the global patterns of climate to which we are accustomed. Our fundamental challenge now is to find out whether and how we can change the behaviors that are causing the problem.”
?In his documentary film, “An Inconvenient Truth,” the former Vice President urges Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home. But Gore’s Nashville mansion consumes more electricity each month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service.
At first glance global warming may seem alarming, but upon closer scrutiny it appears to me exactly what it sounds like: a bunch of hot air.
I think Jay Leno puts it most befittingly, “Al Gore said over the weekend that global warming is more serious than terrorism. Unless the terrorist is on your plane of course, then that extra half a degree doesn’t bother you so much.”
