SBCC security nabs candy thief

Saturday 9/25/10 at 8 p.m.

At 8 p.m. security officers were called to Lot 1B during a football game to deal with an intoxicated man who was causing a disturbance.

Witnesses reported the man was asking for free food from the food truck, and had been seen earlier “humping” a tree.

Security officers asked him to leave, but he acted confused and wouldn’t go. The police were called and the man was arrested for public intoxication.

50 minutes later, man speeding through parking lot 2C next to La Playa Stadium hit parked vehicles and drove away, causing damage.

People at the scene described the man as a “heavy set white guy,” and were able to write down some of the digits of his license plate.

The report says witnesses saw the suspect leave the football game with someone before the incident. He was overheard mentioning having just moved to nearby apartments. Police went to the apartments and found the vehicle with front-end damage.

 

Wednesday 9/22/10

4:22 p.m.

Security was called to the men’s locker room after a fight broke out.

According to the report, one student confronted another, accused him of stealing his cell phone, and then punched him in both sides of his head.

The two fought for a moment before being pulled apart by others in the room.

 

9/23/10 2:45 pm

At 2:45p.m a woman reported having her cell phone stolen from the biology lab.

She was using her phone as a timer for her work and stepped away for five minutes. When she returned the phone had been taken.

9/24/10 12:40 p.m.

Cafeteria staff watched a student stealing a Kit Kat and two Twix candy bars. A security officer confronted the suspect who promptly confessed and pulled the candy from his pockets.
