“Minecraft” is one of the latest PC games on the market, and with over 1.5 million registered players it’s a definite success.
It’s been under development since 2009, and the alpha version (the version before beta) was recently released. It’s available for $14 online at minecraft.net.
The graphics are horrible. It reminds me of games from the ‘90s when everything was square and pixilated, but that also has a special appeal.
While playing the game you’re able to craft and build things with blocks that surround you, and as day fades to night in reality, it also does in the game. But in contrast to reality, the night in “Minecraft” spawns all kinds of monsters.
So it’s a simple game: you create your own world, avoid monsters, and you can play either single or multiplayer.
