Campus clubs celebrate Earth day, international week

City College clubs will be hosting a variety of events for International Week on campus from April 20 to 25.

Each day will carry a different theme, as different clubs will host events from live bands, belly dancers and celebrity guest speakers.

Earth Day falls in the middle of International Week on Wednesday, April 22. Festivities will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The holiday is said to originate from former Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson. After the 1969 Oil Spill in Santa Barbara, Nelson proposed this holiday as a remembrance of the detrimental affects it caused from Rincon to Goleta to the Channels Islands.
