Singer-songwriter Keri Hilson’s much anticipated debut album, “In a Perfect World,” does not disappoint, featuring top guest artists from the R&B and hip- hop worlds.
The single “Turnin’ Me On,” featuring Lil Wayne, is a hypnotic collaboration that is sure to keep your head bobbin from start to finish. Lil Wayne’s crafty word play perfectly complements Hilson’s strong vocals to create the album’s best track.
“Knock You Down,” featuring Kanye West and Ne-Yo, is an up-tempo love song. Both artists overshadow Hilson on the track though, leaving much to be desired from the budding vocalist.
Hilson’s album, though originally slated for release in 2007, was delayed multiple times and was finally released on March 24.
Its mixture of big name artists and well-crafted lyrics will surely take HIlson’s career to the next level.
