Man uses blowhorn to disrupt class, drinks beer as he leaves

Feb. 12 – 10 a.m.

Campus security received a call from the Transfer Center about a student showing disruptive behavior. The student had been yelling at the faculty because they had caught him lying. He kept yelling and walked outside where he tore out some plants next to the trailers. He calmed down when Security arrived with his relatives and left Campus.

Feb. 13  – 7:38 a.m.

A male individual came to the security office and said that he felt that people were following him. The man is not a City College staff member or enrolled in any classes as a student. Although he is not a student, he claimed to have attended a class the previous Friday. He said that people had been saying things to him that he could not repeat to security. He also was suspicious of anyone who had a backpack. Security instructed the man how to enroll in classes. He asked security to contact his life coach and he then left peacefully.

Feb. 13 – 10:30 a.m.

A security officer saw two individuals walking out of the currently restricted parking structure, 5-1. The officer said that he saw the two smoking and recognized one of the individuals as a student. After approaching the two individuals they admitted to smoking marijuana. The other individual was a student as well. One of the two students has a record of smoking marijuana on campus. When the officer called for other officers to assist him, the two students ran away. Security knows who the two students are and will be making contact with them.

Feb. 13 – 3:30 p.m.

Security received a call about a student who was very angry with the staff in the Counseling Services. The student demanded to see a counselor immediately but he was told all the counselors had appointments. The staff told him that they could give him an appointment the next day and told Security that the student seemed to barely contain his anger. When security arrived they escorted the student to the dean’s office.

Feb. 13 – 9:30 p.m.

Security was contacted about a man being disruptive in the Business Communication Forum. About an hour into a professor’s lecture, a man stood up and blew an air horn. He then yelled and started drinking a can of beer. The teacher stopped the man and asked him to leave. When the teacher asked for his name, the man left the classroom. He wasn’t enrolled in the class. Security doesn’t know who the suspect is and the teacher didn’t recognize him. Security is looking for him.
